Meet The Team

Hussein Adams has been with the American Civic Association since January 2020, filing complex immigration cases and applications to USCIS, including Naturalization, Permanent Residence, Visas, Work Authorization, Humanitarian Parole, Asylum, DACA, VAWA, and Temporary Protected Status (TPS). He is eligible to practice immigration law before USCIS, as a Department of Justice (DOJ) Accredited Representative.

Mr. Adams earned his Master’s in Law with a Social Justice concentration at Hamline University and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Public Justice at Suny Oswego. He completed his AAS in Paralegal Studies and received his Graduate Paralegal Certification. In March of 2022, he was promoted as the new Executive Director and CEO of the American Civic Association. Hussein’s extensive background and experience in social justice, advocacy, law, and non-profit work, earned him a nomination to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award, in 2018. He has served underprivileged and underrepresented communities for over two decades and was awarded the Ambassador of Peace Award in 2009. Recently, under his leadership, the ACA reinstated its refugee resettlement status and became an affiliate of International Rescue Committee (IRC), furthering ACA’s humanitarian mission of providing aid and relief to refugees entering the United States.

Mr. Adams has completed many immigrations law courses and trainings, from American University College of Law, Villanova University, Journey’s End Refugee Services, Catholic Charities, and New York Immigration Coalition. He is also a Certified NYS Notary.
