Grants Manager

Overview:

The Grants Manager is responsible for identifying, securing, managing, and overseeing the grant funding opportunities to support the American Civic Association’s mission and programs. The role involves writing compelling grant proposals, maintaining strong relationships with funders, and ensuring compliance with all grant requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, attention to detail, and experience in nonprofit fundraising and grants management.

The ACA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides human services to immigrants, refugees, and asylees in the Greater Binghamton area. Compensation:

$25 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant Research & Identification:
    • Conduct thorough research to identify grant opportunities that align with the ACA’s mission and goals.
    • Monitor new funding opportunities from federal, state, local, and private sources.
  • Grant Writing & Submission:
    • Lead the grant writing process, including drafting, reviewing, and submitting high-quality grant proposals and applications.
    • Collaborate with program staff to collect necessary information and data for successful proposals.
    • Ensure timely submission of all proposals, including follow-ups and responses to funding inquiries.
  • Grant Management & Compliance:
    • Oversee all awarded grants to ensure compliance with funders’ requirements, including reporting, budgeting, and other stipulations.
    • Track and manage the grant cycle, including deadlines for applications, reports, and renewals.
    • Ensure accurate and timely financial and programmatic reporting to funders.
  • Data & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of grant applications, funding received, and reporting deadlines.
    • Work with finance and program staff to gather data and metrics for grant reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, public administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience in grant writing and management, preferably within a nonprofit or public sector organization.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
